What's the difference between a coach and a therapist?

The main difference between a coach and a therapist lies in the focus of their work. Coaching is oriented towards the present and future – it helps you set goals, develop your potential, and find solutions that move you forward. Therapy, on the other hand, often deals with processing past events, addressing deeper emotional difficulties, or mental health disorders. A coach is not a healthcare professional and does not replace a therapist. If you're unsure which approach is right for you, I’d be happy to help you consider your options.

How does walk & talk coaching works?

Coaching while walking combines traditional coaching conversations with movement in the fresh air. We’ll meet at a prearranged location within Košice. During the walk, we’ll focus on your topics – talking, asking questions, and helping you discover new perspectives. Movement in nature encourages relaxation, creativity, and clearer thinking, which often leads to deeper understanding. The only difference from traditional coaching is that I take notes after the session, as it’s not possible to do so during the walk.

Do I need to prepare for the session in any way?

No, no special preparation is required. Again, every client is different, so some come with a clearly defined topic, while others may not have one – both are fine :) Together, through questions and answers, and possibly with the help of coaching techniques, we’ll get exactly where it’s needed.

Will the coach solve my "problem" in one session?

It greatly depends on the nature and complexity of the topic you're bringing. In general, one session is not enough. The first session is usually introductory, and more topics might open, so the number and frequency of meetings are very individual. For the sake of effectiveness and maximum benefit, multiple sessions are recommended, ideally every 2-3 weeks.

Where does the coaching take place?

Coaching takes place wherever is most convenient for you – online, at your company, in a café, while walking, or at the Startup Campus coworking space in Košice, where we can meet in person by arrangement. My priority is to create a safe and comfortable space for conversation – regardless of the location.

Do I have to be coached only while walking?

Definitely not. Coaching while walking is just one of the options I currently offer in Košice as the only one, and it can be a pleasant form, especially during those demanding sedentary days at work or school. But we're all different—some may prefer an online session from the comfort of their home, while others may enjoy a conversation over a cup of coffee in a cozy café with the natural ambiance. I adapt the coaching to make it feel as natural as possible for you.
